GMud is a simple to use mud client. It is possible to make gMud accessible to screen readers. It is a small program that can be ran stand-alone. After installation you can copy the installed folder onto a removable drive or something and take it with you and mud from work, or where ever. It supports triggers, macros and aliases. It's functionality is pretty basic, but it does have the ability to make a soundpack, if not a really reliable one.
How to get GMud32?
Download the installer from here and run it. Follow the instructions to install it and that's that.
trigger packs:
GMud has what it calls sets. These are sets of your aliases, macros and triggers. You can associate different connections to use the same set if you want to. GMud can let you export a set, so you can export a soundpack for example and distribute the soundpack for others to get their grubby paws on and import into their own copy of GMud. To import a set,
- Download the file.
- Stick it inside GMud's installation folder which typically is in c:\program files\GMUD32.
- Open GMud and go to file/Import Sound Pack. There is a list box there which should have the .gtp file you just put into the GMUD32 folder. Just select that and hit ok.
- go to file/connect. Select or create the connection you want. For example create a connection for Alter Aeon. Fill out the host and port and all that good stuff.
- Press the "change" buttons after you've selected the connection you want and choose the trigger set you want to associate with that connection. For example if you're getting the Alter Aeon soundpack below, create or select your alter Aeon connection, then choose the "change trigger set" button and select alter aeon and press ok. Do the same for macros and aliases.
My soundpacks:
Alter Aeon
just a whole bunch of sounds for spells and stuff like that.

JAWS
If you want JAWS to work better with GMud, just download the jsgmud32.exe file and run it. It should install JAWS scripts that will improve things a bit.
Hal and Supernova
Click here to download the Hal and supernova mapper file for GMUD32
To make GMUD32 work with hal and supernova, follow these instructions.
download and save the GMud.dtl file linked above to
c:\dolphin\hal\settings
Substitute the path with your hal directory if it isn't installed in the default directory.
Note, this mapper file works with supernova as well, the path should be
c:\dolphin\snova\settings
After placing the file in the settings directory, launch the installed gmud32 application that is linked to above. After it's installed, press alt+tab repeatedly until you find the hal control pannel. After that, press alt+m to move to the map menu. Follow this by pressing down arrow until you locate select map file and then press enter. After that, press g repeatedly until you find GMud32.dtl and press enter. Note you may or may not notice the .dtl on the end of the file, it doesn't make any difference. Finally, switch back to gmud and hopefully mud games will speak automatically through hal in the future.
